He started practicing Jiu-Jitsu when he entered Waseda University. He won the 2018 All Japan No-Gi Championship, beating the favorite to win despite it being his no-gi debut match. The following year, he won the open weight class, becoming unbeaten in Japan. He then switched to being a no-gi specialist grappler, which is rare in Japan, and became a world-class athlete.
He will represent Asia and Oceania at the ADCC (2019, 2022), which will determine the world's best grappler.
