The title of this work, "Science," expresses our desire to pursue not only rationality and efficiency, but also reproducibility.
This work can be roughly divided into "Entry (Removing the guard) ⇒ Knee (Putting your weight on) ⇒ Breaking through (Another approach if you can't break through) ⇒ Holding down", and at each stage, Yamanaka's answers are packed in. This work can be called the "Knee Cut Encyclopedia" because it teaches you how to deal with all kinds of trouble that can occur with knee cut (knee slice) passes. It also covers the opponent's defense and counter patterns, so you can refer to it like a dictionary.

■ The Science of Smash Passing
The smash pass takes away control from your opponent and sends them hurtling in an unintended direction, so the sense of accomplishment of guarding the pass is greater than any other guarding pass.
