He is one of the top Korean brown belt jiu-jitsu practitioners. His specialty, foot lock, is highly accurate in all stages of entry, setup, and finishing, and he has produced many submission wins. In the 2024 Asian Championships, he won five purple belt featherweight matches, all by submission. Four of those matches were won by foot lock. In Japanese professional matches, he has participated in KIT consecutively and is currently on a four-win streak.

This seminar video teaches Song's two signature submissions, the foot lock and the ankle lock. The foot lock in the first half starts with an entry from double guard, and you can learn the precise principles of how to complete it, including grip cuts and bridges. The ankle lock in the second half is a submission that starts from 50/50. In addition to the normal submissions, you can also learn how to complete the belly down.
