■ Igor Tanabe
He started practicing jiu-jitsu at the age of 7 and won numerous titles in domestic competitions. In 2017, he won the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu World Championship (Mundial) as a blue belt and was promoted to purple belt. In 2018, he won the IBJJF European and Pan American Championships, and won the Mundial again. In 2019, he placed third in the Mundial as a brown belt. In 2020, he participated in domestic competitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was promoted to black belt. He won the All Japan Championships in 2021 and 2022 in both weight and open weight classes. He aspired to be an MMA fighter, making his professional debut in November 2021 and defeating Koji Shimizu. In December 2022, he defeated Melvin Manhoef. In May 2023, he announced his participation in RIZIN, and in July of the same year, he won his first competition against Daiji Abe. He continued to win in October and December, achieving five consecutive submission victories.
